EDSITEment (http://edsitement.neh.gov) is pleased to announce new lesson
plans and 29 new sites!! This week, many of you will receive an EDSITEment
poster and summary of the lesson plans in the mail. Logon to EDSITEment and
click on "Lesson Plans" to read the full lesson plans online. Send us a
"Talk to Us" message to let us know what you think and, if you are new, to
join our mailing list to receive free hardcopies of the learning guides. We
are interested in how we can make EDSITEment better for teachers and parents.

There is also a new educational site survey on EDSITEment.

If you are new to EDSITEment, EDSITEment (http://edsitement.neh.gov) offers
the best of the humanities on the Web by providing direct access to some of
the most valuable on-line resources for teaching history, social studies,
English, foreign languages, philosophy, language arts, and art history.
EDSITEment and all of its materials are completely free.

EDSITEment is a joint project of the National Endowment for the Humanities,
the Council of the Great City Schools, MCI, and the National Trust for the
Humanities.

EDSITEment includes:
Top Humanities Web Sites: a user-friendly site offering one-top shopping
for quality materials on humanities related topics. Each link listed on
EDSITEment has been screened by a rigorous academic review process and
endorsed by a distinguished panel of educators and parents.

Learning Guides: Practical lesson plans that draw directly on the resources
available through EDSITEment, with step-by-step directions to help teachers
implement each learning activity or to use it as a template to create their
own lesson plans.

Take-Home Activities: Specially-designed activities that allow students and
their parents to work together on projects that bring EDSITEment into
students' homes. Activities can be completed with or without home access
to the Internet.
