target:mid.school novels

Hi!
 Would anyone know of some stories, suitable for a middle school library
(gr.6-8), that are centered around a trial or legal issues? I have some
very good readers who enjoy this type of reading, but I'm not sure their
parents would approve of John Grishom's novels. Off the top of my head I
can think of none that I have in my library other than "To Kill A
Mockingbird". Thanks for any help.
