TARGET: Collection Size

Dear LM_netters,
I am the librarian in a small K-12 American/International school in Morocco.
Our school has two libraries, one for K-6 (180 students) and the other for
grades7-12 (230 students).

I am in the process of writing a proposal and need some data on collection
size. Can anyone tell me if there are guidelines for what the size of a book
collection for libraries this size should be? One other consideration is that
our students have no public libraries, university libraries or interlibrary
loan to access.

Thanks for your help. For a librarian overseas, it is great to have all of you
for a source of information.
