GEN: If you liked "The Giver"....

Hi all:

I read the posting of the Newbery favorites with interest. My favorite
book from the 50s was Ayn Rand's _Anthem_. If you liked _The Giver_, you
will love this book. I checked Amazon.com and they do have it for sale.
It is VERY short, unlike most of Rand's books.  You can get through it
in an hour or so...but it will linger in your mind much longer:-)

As for the Newbery's, I've enjoyed all the recent ones. I made it a
point to read many of the earlier ones and really enjoyed _Onion John_
by Krumgold and _Wheel on the School_ by DeJong and _Banner in the Sky_
by Ullman. They are oldies but good reads. So many books, so little
time!
