The response for Memorial Ideas for a deceased teacher was overwhelmingly for books to be placed in the library and in Memory of the Teacher. Last year (my first year in a library) I had each teacher fill out a form stating their favorite children's author, favorite professional book and a book that was by their nightstand right at the moment. I used these throughout the year in my monthly newsletter to "spotlight" a teacher. As I was going through them again, I re-read the one filled out by the deceased teacher so we will be dedicating a space in the Library for books written by her favorite author. She had also mentioned to me this past summer the name of a storyteller she wished could visit our school so we have invited him and we will make it a "Literacy Day" in Honor, in Memory and in Celebration of her love of children and literature. Thanks for your suggestions.
