Here are some suggestions I received.  Saving the picture into Paint is
what worked for me.
Thanks to all for your help.

When using a digital camera, save the photos as jpeg files before you
attach them to email messages. This format can be opened by Mac and Windows
using the Netscape or Explorer software. Anyone with Internet access should
have one or the other. There are also many shareware jpeg viewer programs
on the web specifically designed to view these images.

Be sure to make your files small ( I usually shrink my images to 1/4 screen
or less) before you save and send them. Otherwise, those of us with slow
modem access will have to wait forever until they download ;-)

I believe there is software that she needs on her computer.  It comes with
the camera and can be installed on as many computers as you want.

Sure you have gotten a lot of help by now.  The thing is how you save the file
and what the person has who opens the file.  JPEG seems to be a really
succession way to save files and send them.  Many pictures are saved
automatically as gif but not everything opens them.  Sometimes I even import
the picture into a paint program and save it as .bmp.

Make sure you are saving the picture as a JPEG file.

Does your teacher have a program that will open that file?  If the file
extension is .bmp, the paint program in Windows can be used to open it.
A .jpg can be opened by the Photo Editor included with Office 97, if
you've installed that option.  You'll probably have to select an
application to open the file.  Good luck!

The problem is nopt with you but on the other end.  She must have a
jpeg. or other type of graphic interface or converter.  What type of
computer is she using?
