Hello fellow LMNETTERS: I am the librarian at a high school in Southern California and need your help/opinion. Our Assistant Principal of Activities at our school would like to purchase a computer program that allows all offices to access a database of sorts that lists all outstanding charges for all students. The goal is to eleviate having to check 5 departments on campus to see if a student owes any money, books or materials. When he brought this up I thought it was a good idea, and of course I was asked to assist in finding such a program. Is there any librarian out there that currently has a system that their library participates in, such as what he is described above? If so what computer program does your school use and how does this help/hurt the library's abilities to get books or lost book fees? Any guidance and help in this dilemma would be greatly appreciated.
