I'm wondering how all you school media specialists Date: Mon, 7 Sep 1998 11:06:07 -0500 work in a K-2 setting with almost 600 students. I see 36 classes a week - back to back scheduling. Last year, I sent students to a table with their heads down, took away book borrowing privileges and started a point system for good behavior, returning books etc. Nothing seemed to really work. My school has a mixture of very well to do kids down to kids in emergency housing. I know alot of the behavior exhibited stems from the home. However, some of these kids are downright rude, uncooperative and nothing at all phases them. So I need your help for some good, quick, discipline methods that work. School starts on Wednesday and I'd like to have a management system in place. Thanks! Doreen Shultz Librarian Mary G. I have a final intensive, 30-40 page paper due in May of '99. I have chosen school library orientations as my topic. What works, what doesn't. I also intend to develop an orientation for Elementary, Middle and High school levels. I need your help! I If you can, please tell me what you're doing in your school for an orientation, why it works or not. A copy of your orientation would be very useful. I will give you my fax number if you wish to send a list to me directly rather than over the internet. My fax # is 978-970-3959. I thank all those who are willing to help me with this overwhelming task!!!! Also any books you think I may use for my research would be a major help. Sorry for the error in my original posting. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
