Hello everyone! I received few responses to my request for activities on Rosemary Wells for First grade, but here they are: thanks to those who responded. -Read the story Bunny Money and copy money on the endpages of the book; have students color money and describe ways to spend it; Copycat magazine (issue not known) has a pattern for a wallet which can be copied and cut out for students. -Booklinks (Sept. 98 issue) has an article by Wells describing her creative process in drawing picture books (in this article the story Yoko). Show children the various pictures along with the final choice in Yoko. I also used Noisy Nora with the class (using our big book form) and "sang" the story to them (discuss the many ways to tell a story). Thanks again to those who responded: I really appreciate your help!
