On the subject of copyright, I have a book by Carole Simpson regarding copyright and school libraries; however, this is my personal copy. My teachers and I struggle with the issues every day--usually me telling them that I can't allow them to download software on other computers when it is restricted to only a few specific computers or photocopying an entire book--they NEED the basics but I won't be able to have a workshop with them. Does anyone know of a "cheap" resource that gives the educational copyright basics? Is there a website that I can refer them to that has it all nicely bundled? The problem, of course, is that there are so many issues that most of things that I've found are really lengthy and legal. I need a simple (C. Simpson) book that describes things. I really don't want to summarize her book for them. What would be really nice is a questionnaire determining their "copyright intelligence" because until they see what questions are posed and how these legal situations are being broken by their ignorance (or avoidance) of the issues and laws, they won't believe me.
