Dear LM_NET friends, I am coming to you for help. The librarians in my school district have done extensive research this year on various library management software. We have had presentations from several different vendors, and we are all in agreement on which one we want to use. The problem: our network administrator is pushing for a system we do not want simply because it is compatible with the AS400 and she believes it will be easier for her to maintain. The system she wants is Gateway. We have selected Follett's new Windows 95 product. She is using a line by line cost analysis to make her case. We don't feel that is fair because the two products are not equal. Can anyone out there help me with some arguments that our administration and school board can understand? Can anyone give me some specific reasons why we should NOT select the Gateway software? We need to work fast if we are to have any hope of success. Thank you so much for any help you can give us.
