LM_NETTERS: I tried to not get involved in the thread of favorite books, but the more I read the more it made me think. When I was in the fifth grade I could not get enough historical fiction books with female heroines. Yes, I read Little House on the Prairie, etc. and loved them, but more memorable was Molly Pitcher. Now for your help -- I remember a story that took place on Martha's Vineyard and one game the children played had to do with a wagon wheel or large loop that they used a stick to control as they raced it down the streets. Does THIS sound familiar to anyone? I'd love to find the book again.
