Dear fellow LMNetters I am working in a K-5 library. The children are shelving their own books, but the decimal numbers confuse them. Has anyone ever removed the.987 or so and just put the first three numbers and the first three letters? Or is this totally against Dewey. I want the children to be able to find the books not give up on looking for them because they have not yet learned about .987. Any ideas? Also, I would like to know how you decide what filmstrips to remove from circulation. I am working on trying to purchase videos to replace them. Any suggestions?
