Stephanie and All-- Joseph Bruchac has "The First Stawberries," which is a Cherokee tale. There is "Aunt Mary, Tell Me a Story" a small press publication from Cherokee Communications PO Box 507 Cherokee, NC 28719. Beautiful stories told by a comtemporary teller on the NC reservation. If you can find Lloyd Arneach's book The Animal's Ball Game, it's excellent, too, although out of print. He's a travelling storyteller, os if anyone's in that market, he is ( or was, two years ago) on the road. (He has a website.) Hope that helps, Cris Riedel, proud to be part Cherokee Ellis B.
