I just had to jump into this discussion. I was talking this over with my sister and we both loved The Pink Motel, too. And what about Champion Dog, Prince Tom? We agree we must have each read it at least two dozen times. In fact, she still has it. And our whole family loved Gerald McBoingBoing - my brother and I used to recite it together (words for me, sounds for him.) I read the Little House books over and over and I loved those orange-covered biographies. And our public librarian hooked me the romance novels of Frank Slaughter (very mild by today's standards) and the mysteries of Agatha Christie. I still read mysteries. Does anyone remember a book about a girl who time travels back to the middle ages (not the 19th century, i.e. not Time and Again) and falls in love with a boy from that time?
