I'm a jr. high and high school librarian. The two schools are in one building but have two libraries. I spend most of my time in the high school library except for one period a day in the junior high during their study hall and when a teacher requests. Unfortunately, the teachers rarely request because they feel I'm too busy to be bothered. In order to serve the junior high students better, I've tried for several years to work out some library time in literature and grammar classes. Finally, the teachers are beginning to consider this idea. However, I was curious as to what other middle schools do to facilitate library access for all students. A scheduled class seems kind of backwards in the age of flexible scheduling but I can't seem to think of other good options.
