This week my library was wired for district-wide Internet access and as a result, I have had to turn my circulation desk so it faces the door because of the placement of the power poles. It looks a lot better, but I am concerned about the cables and wires on the back of the circulation computer. I need some suggestions on what can be done to hide these cables. I put a small bookcase in front of the circulation desk where the students can return books and stapled poster board to the back of it to hide the cables, but this seems very flimsy. I'm afraid that plywood would be too heavy since it would have to come up about a foot over the top of the bookcase. Any suggestions would be welcome. The cables themselves go from the back of the computer through the book return hole (which we have never used because I don't want to bend down to get the books) and under the circulation desk so we don't have to worry about students stepping on plugs or power strips. Before the desk was turned around we had a computer table in front of it so the cables didn't seem to stand out as much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Madeline L.
