Hello all, I would like to bring up a topic for possible discussion. While on vacation this summer, I was talking with my mother who had just had a discussion with the new librarian in my old high school in upstate New York. During their discussion he mention that he was going to throw out all the magazines! When she told me that I almost had a stroke. His justification to that was that "everything can be found on-line". Is this a new "trend" that is being taught in library school? I know that the internet is a great research tool, but it is not the end all be all of research. Am I just "old-fashioned"? Is this the way things are heading? I would love to get some other thoughts on this topic. Carol Petrie, Media Coordinator West Brunswick High School 550 Whiteville Rd.
