GEN: Favorite Fantasy Writers

About three weeks ago I posted a message about fantasy in general and
the Harry Potter books in particular. Then I left town on a trip and
therefore failed to follow up as I intended. I mentioned in the context
of my message that I had several other favorite fantasy authors. When I
returned I had messages asking whom I might list as my "top five
favorite fantasy writers." This posting is not to resurrect the Harry
Potter thread, but to respond to questions about best liked fantasy
writers. I decided it would be interesting to know what authors might be
named by others as well. Anyway, if I were to mention some favorite
fantasy authors, here are several that come to mind. They are listed in
no particular order: Lloyd Alexander, Susan Cooper, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R.
Tolkien, Madeleine L'Engle, Brian Jacques. Roald Dahl. I have a feeling
I am forgetting someone but for now that is my list. Any other
