Everything can be found on line?  Boy, is that dangerous.  In regards to
throwing out magazines, well Maybe that librarian does have CDROM reference
sources that duplicate the magazine, but they don't duplicate everything.
One of my favorite things to do when researching a topic is to find the
article that seems to say it all, and then look at the letters to the editor
that follow in the next few months regarding the article--sometimes you
actually find corrections to the article and sometimes you actually find
another expert who refutes it entirely or leads you to another source or
point of view.  I don't think that these letters to the editor or corrections
are ever published on CD or online, even in "full text" databases.
