Target: Monthly Musicians and Artists

I am interested in including one musician and one artist each month as part
of displays, segments on morning broadcast, trivia quizzes, etc.  in the
media center this year.  I'd like to honor them during the month of their
birthdays.  Has anyone tried this in a K-5 school?  I'm interested in
exposing the students to a variety of art and music.  Any good resources?
