I am a new librarian at a middle school in Tennessee (grades 6-8). I have only k-8 certification and am beginning graduate courses in Information Sciences this month. I will teach library on a waiver for two years while I am working towards my Master's Degree. I am scared to death because I have no experience teaching in a library. How am I going to start out the year? I don't know how a library class should be taught. I have gotten some ideas from the internet, lesson plans and curriculum frameworks and so forth, but I'm not sure how I am going to begin the first few days of classes. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Our school has approximately 475 students. I have 4 computers in the library and I am going to be the only person in the library. Thanks in advance, Cindy Hughes, Librarian Madisonville Middle School Madisonville, TN chughes302@aol.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
