ELEM: Query - Good Discussion Books for Grades 3 & 4

Hello, all.

Our library will be conducting book discussions for children of all ages

this coming year.  We will have parent/child, grandparent/child, etc...
target groups.  We are all set with ideas for most of our older age
groups, but are thin on ideas for grades 3 & 4.  If you have any ideas
for good discussion books (both fiction and non-fiction), please pass
them on to me.  We are particularly interested in mysteries,
science-fiction, fantasy, and multicultural titles.

Some suggestions we've received already:

Adventures of Captain Underpants (Pilkey)
So Far From the Sea (Bunting)
The Whipping Boy (Fleischman)
Time Warp Trio (Scieska)
