Web Search Newsletter
by Chris Sherman, About.com Guide to Web Search
http://websearch.about.com

which contained the following reference today:

Lies, Damned Lies, & Web Pages
The Web is full of true lies--or are they false truths?
Here's how to cut through the dross to find the real gold on
the Web. This article also features an interview with
About.com Urban Legends Guide David Emery, where he shares
his methods and favorite sites for researching and skewering
myths, hoaxes, and Net fraud.

I figured that those who are starting to teach research on the web (don't
we "start" this every year?) would appreciate the hints on this site
(there are two linked pages at the bottom which are also useful.)

is a site with searching tutorials.

There was also a "mini-tutorial" connected with the URL above:

"(Note: if this URL appears on two lines, please cut and
paste the two lines together with no spaces in the URL)"
