Re: Orson Scott Card (speaking of great SF for young readers)

Colleagues:
   One brief addition to the Orson Scott Card enquiry; in addition to
the four titles in the Ender series (Ender's Game, Speaker for the
Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind), there is a fifth coming out
this month, according to hatrackriver.com, Card's official web site.
It is called "Ender's Shadow".  I am very curious about it, for reasons
obvious to those who have read "Children of the Mind".
   For those not familiar with the series, "Ender's Game" won both a
Hugo and Nebula award, and is one of the great all-time SF books, with
appeal to both a YA and a general adult audience.  There is also an
upcoming film.
   Card is one of the few science fiction authors who successfully uses
spirituality as a theme, without being in the least sappy or preachy.
(Card is a faithful Mormon).  Unfortunately, the other books in the
series, while great SF, may not be as appealling to a young audience.
