In reply to the lm_netter who wrote to ask what a video club might do at her school: Many schools have a video club which produces a daily broadcast for school announcements. The students love doing this, and if you open it up to everybody, they can all get a taste of each role--anchorperson, cameraperson, director, etc. If you do not have a school-wide tv system, I would suggest teaching them to use the equipment, and taping special events like plays, athletic events, etc. They could quickly move on to writing and producing their own original stuff. A lot of media specialists have responsibility for this, so you can get some great ideas and help on lm_net!
