I would think that this is not a violation of copyright especially since you have not deprived the author of royaltys since, of course, you already own the book. Bookstores promote books by putting them in the window to draw customers. I see your bulletin board in a similar vein. You are encoraging the use of the book, you are not duplicating the book in order to avoid purchasing it. If you were to make a thousand copies of the boocover, however, and pass it around to everyone and LM_NET, then it could be aproblem. Similarly, I wanted to use bookcovers for a specific authors titles on a webpage that I made. I found them readily available for copying on Amazon.com. I requested their permission which they granted by my becoming an Amazon Associate through which I now get a small return of $ to our Young Authors program. Cheryl Sturgeon Library Media Spec.
