Dear Colleagues,
The response was overwhelming for this request. I started thanking each
one personally, but I could not keep up with the bulk. Please forgive me
for this group thank you. Many of the ideas were the same. Here is a
condensed hit of ideas and suggestions that some of you requested since
you're going through the same experience.
Ask the school guidance counselor, other teachers, and parents for
suggested titles.
Suggestions for starting:
Display the section near the door for more visibility.
Advertise the section in school and media newsletters.
Ask community organizations for pamphlets.
Check out the public library's collection.
Ask the PTA for funding so you won't have to use money from the general
media budget.
Suggested titles:
Books on teaching reading, math, etc. that support the way subjects are
taught in your school.

your child discipline-wise.

Three resources to use right away:
Channing L. Beete Co., Inc., in South Deerfield, MA (publishes parenting
pamphlets, designed to be purchased in lots and distributed. Their phone
number is 1-800-628-7733. Ask for a catalog)
Debbie Dodd, the Media Specialist at West Dover School in NJ has their
parent collection listed on their website at
http://www.tomsriver.k12.nj.us/staff/d/ddodd/page6.html
