GEN: EL-ANNOUNCE IS A WAY TO FIND DISCOUNTS

Dear LM_NET Colleagues,

This is a reminder of how to save on book purchases. If you were
subscribed to EL-Announce, you would have received notices of special
discounts for EL-Announce members over the summer. 20% discounts on
professional development and resource books have been the standard from
leading publishers of books for school librarians (e.g. Libraries
Unlimited; Linworth).

Joining EL-Announce is also a way to help support the operation of LM_NET.
If you are interested in receiving a *limited* number of messages about
library-related products and services, check out EL-ANNOUNCE.

To subscribe to EL-ANNOUNCE, send an email message to:

In the body of the message write: subscribe

That's all you need to do. Your name is not required-- just the word:
subscribe

You can look farward to regular announcements and special offers over the
coming year via EL-Announce. When you place your orders, please let them
know that you appreciate their support of LM_NET, and be sure to ask for
your discount for that week's EL-Announce offer.

EL-Announce may be particularly helpful to spot deals as you prepare your
orders. Also a good way to show your support for LM_NET! You may want to

EL-Announce, the LM_NET affiliated "announcements" list server allows
vendors and organizations to send you notices and promotional materials. I
would like to mention that we have had some very, very good discounts and
new publication announcements posted in recent weeks.

EL-ANNOUNCE is a moderated, _read-only_ list.  If you subscribe, you will
receive announcements of product specials and discounts, new products,
services, or opportunties specificially suited the the education and
library fields. This is an announcement list only--there will be no
discussion, but you will be able to reply directly to a specific vendor to
obtain additional information.

EL-Announce was started to help ease the pressure for commercial messages
on LM_NET and other listservers, and to recognize the need for library
vendors to get their important messages out to the schools without
spamming. Vendors are pre-screened, and their messages must be of interest
to school library media professionals.

Please note that: Postings will be limited to one message per vendor per
week.  The list is moderated to ensure compliance and to see that messages
are relevant to library and education interests.
