AR points at book fair

A few weeks ago, someone posted a response to Accelerated Reader incentives dealing 
with students spending their points at the book fairs.  Unfortunately, I deleted 
the message before I could print it.  I would really like to know more about this.  
How is it funded?  How much is a point worth?  Etc.
