looking for book titles and recommendations

Hi there, I've barely been back at school and already teachers have
major requests, for which I need your help.
lst--there's the teacher who remembers a book about a young boy who fell
into an anthill.  Does anyone have the remotest idea what the title
might be?
2nd--our science and history teachers would like to have some titles on
drugs, geology and ancient Greece on the shelves.  Do you have any
recommendations that you would make--for a 5th--6th--7th grade group of
