TARGET->Hi-Lo titles related to 9th gr. Earth Sci

I wondered if you folks could help - I spoke today with an Earth Science
teacher who would like to have her 9th grade lower level students read a
novel each semester relating in some way to the 4 areas of Earth Sci.
she will be teaching - Astronomy - Geology - Meteorology - Oceanography.

I'm just not that familiar with high interest-low reading level titles,
although Gary Paulsen's Dogsong and Woodsong came to mind...I checked
out the list recently posted, but none of the titles that I recognize
fill the bill. Someone suggested Star Wars novelizations. ?

I've checked out some of the reading list sites, but often there is only
a title with no indication of topic.

If any titles come to mind I'd appreciate it if you'd send them along.
I'll post a hit if there's interest.

Or reading list websites that can be searched?
