Our seventh graders have a joint AMerican History/English unit during
which they write a short story set during WWII. We
encourage them to interview family members who were involved, but as you
can imagine there are fewer and fewer people available.  Another thing
they are encouraged to do is read other stories set during the war, but we
seem to have a plethora of novels, not short stories.  Can anyone help?
