I tried to send this hit in October, but problems with how LM_NET's server
read my e-mail address prevented its being sent. In light of the current
discussion, I'm trying again.

My original request:
"I have always limited K-1 students to 1 book at a time, & grades 2-5 to 2
books, because the librarian before me did that, & it seemed to be common
practice.
What do you think about not limiting the number of books students can check
out at a time? I'd like to hear from those who have tried it. "

I have had several requests for a hit. Two are forthcoming, one primarily
"Yes" responses, and one primarily "No." However, they are mostly, as my
Minnesota-born husband would say, Yah-buts (and No-buts (haw haw haw!))
Most respondents qualified their answers, so I sorted some of them by
attitude rather than practice.
One person who requested a hit asked about the size of the respondents'
schools, but I couldn't always tell that from the responses.

I can't say I've come to a conclusion as to how I will change my
circulation policy yet -- there were so many great suggestions!

Thanks to all who replied. Thanks also to Penny Swartz, whose post on
posting a hit with Eudora walked me through my first HIT!
