When do you keep mismailings?

Hello Gang,
I know we can keep videos, etc. from that infamous company that sends out
unsolicited videos for preview. BUT, what do you do when a company sends a
box of "new" World Book Encyclopedias to your school? I called the company.
They thanked me and told me UPS would be out with a tag that week. Three
weeks later and I'm still waiting so I called again. (The school secretary
is irritated that she keeps tripping over the boxes waiting for UPS.)  The
company told me that they would send UPS out again. I informed them that if
the books were still here by winter break, I would consider them a gift to
our school.  ... Is that legitimate? Our budget is such that new
encyclopedias would be a wonderful present. ;-)
