Interesting non fiction book about libraries

My daughter is in the SLIS program at the University of
Wisconsin--Madison.  One of her assignments is to read an adult,
nonfiction book that is basically about libraries or has use of
libraries in it.  I am not coming up with anything.  She wants it to be
interesting.  Do any of you have any suggestions?
