I want to do a lesson on Boolean searching that doesn't involve students
having to be on the computers, since I rarely have access to them. I have
this germ of an idea in my head and I'm hoping that others will add to it
and flesh it out. I was trying to think of some way to have a good time
with it by playing Clue. I'd deal out the shuffled clue deck to about half
the class and have them figure out which students were the various weapons,
rooms, characters, etc. by using Boolean queries and having students stand
up or sit down based on what was on the cards they held? This is the kind
of thing that you actually have to get going before you find out the snags
in it. Do any of you see any places in this game that might require some
special forethought, like deliberate placement of certain cards or limits
on certain types of questions, so that the game will be challenging and go
smoothly? I'd like them to be able, by elimination, to decide which
students are holding the cards involved in the "crime."
