middle school reading programs

More than 70% of our middle school students are reading at a 2/3 level and
we're looking for a school-wide reading program.  Has your school
(preferably a comparable Title I school) found a program that has been
successful in teaching reading to 6 through 8th graders?
 We have had a representative from SRA show us their variety of programs
and are considering using them.  Any comments from schools presently using
this program would be much appreciated.
