From: HS Library <dkennedy@MASD.NET>
Subject: middle schools

Hi,
I am looking for information on programs with the middle school. I was
a high school librarian for the past 20 years. Now I have moved to a
new library and I will also be librarian for the middle school and high
school. My library is beside the elementary library. The elementary
librarian who now has the 6th graders would like to continue to teach
them even though they are the middle school. I don't mind. What would
be great is to do team teaching with the 6th grade so they would be used
to me when they get to the middle school/high school setup. Problems
with that could be a different time schedule for the elementary and
middle school and also taking the time away from the middle/high school
library to help team teach. We are not sure how the administrators
react to that idea. Does anyone else have any other "visions for a
middle school library?" That is what the elementary librarian and I are
to speak about at the next middle school commmitte meeting. We are open
to any suggestions.
Thanks for all you help.
This is my second try. I had two librarians also requesting the
information. I will post a hit with anything that I get.
