Hi, Cyber-friends! I've read many posts from you about teachers who send their classes to the library with a research assignment that can't be completed because the teacher didn't do her homework. Well, I'm doing my homework! I want to assign a research project to my 7th graders. We are studying Greek Mythology and I wanted to let them choose their favorite god, goddess, or mythological creature to research. What I need is a list of questions or some sort of format for them to follow which will help them find the necessary information to include in their report, and which will not send the librarian into thinking bad thoughts about me. Is there any sort of format that librarians like to see teachers like me prepare in advance? Is there a particular way to go about this that would be easier on the librarian and the teacher? It is regretful that the librarian at my school will not be much help (I'd rather not explain unless I can do it anonymously), so I'll be on my own with them when I send them out to the World Wide Web, the public library, or our school library. Thanks for your help! Marcia -- Marcia M. Norris "Outside of a dog, a book is man's Language Arts Teacher best friend. Inside of a dog Suwannee Middle School it is too dark to read."
