Help Please! We are in the process of building a new elementary building. Right now, we are K-3, a bond issue passed and starting this Spring, we are breaking ground for a new K-5 building. I have another meeting with the architect this Friday (short notice of course) and I don't want to forget anything. If any of you out there have recently built a new school and had to deal with planning the library, please give me your input! What kind of problems did you have, did you forget anything in the planning stages, what should I make sure I have in my new library? So far we have talked about the circulation area, work room, computer lab, a-v storage, reading area, and conference rooms. But, this is my first time dealing with a real architect (not just a course in college) and it is only my second year as a librarian. Any suggestions, ideas would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to forget anything. Thanks for all your help.
