HIT: Internet Shortcuts on Macs?

How does one create an Internet Shortcut to a web site on a MAC
Desktop?
Using Bookmarks is too cumbersome - and I'm spoiled by the ease of
Windows in this one area.

Please help!  I'll post a hit.  Thanks.
