Thnaks to all who responded to my query about the "correct" subject heading to indicate a digital voice component when cataloging software. Responses: You are using a subject heading for something that should really be in a note field, but you must have your reasons. Create a subject heading clear to you and your patrons. If using an OPAC and want things in MARC, use the subfield 2 at the end of 650 and put in "local". That way the OPAC won't try to match it against a designated authority like Sears or LC. Put the information in a 500 tag field (notes) and then you can do a keyword search. Use a local term.... Remember that the whole purpose of cataloging is accessibility. Do what works best for your patrons. Use one of the note lines for "voice component" and call up by keyword search. I'm taking the advice of the first listed response (from D. Robinson, HW Wilson) and creating an actual subject heading, because that is the only way I would be able to create an automated bibliography. The Follett system which we have does not allow making a biblio from keywords. However, the "correct" cataloging would be to put it in the notes field, so I'm also taking the advice of the third person who responded. Thanks to all.
