All film companies and movies in particular have a whole dept. to take care of properties and props. These people are in constant negotiations with companies re: products used in films...everything from the pet food to the computer, so unless the writer or the producer include a particular product to enhance the story the product is aquired not for the film per se but as a result of some monetary consideration.
