It is quite difficult to judge "usage", esp. with flex scheduling. I
keep track, of course, of circulation, individual student usage via
Winenbago's student usage function, teacher use by grade, by individual,
and I TRY to note in my plan book individual and small group usage. The
latter is very difficult to accurately judge. Suppose a group of
several students opts to spend their recess with me talking to each
other, reading, "looking at books," yacking to me, is this not "usage?"
Some kids come daily to see which "Animorphs" are in, to see if they
have books out, to say "Hi" to me, isn't this usage?
Yes, my circ stats are quite good; I'm blessed witha decent budget and
have lots of nice new books. My facility gets used a good amount to
teachers and groups, but the other stats are very difficult to
ascertain. I do know that I am rarely alone with nobody there but me.
Happy New Year and the impending Y2K!
Bonnie
