Need name of book

["J'aime Foust" <jfoust@MUM.NERIC.ORG>]

A teacher caught the tail-end of an NPR recommendation for a book - no
author or title, but she believes the sub-title is "Books for common
readers" and is by the editor of Amen Scholar.  !!??  Can anyone help with
this?  TIA!! - J'aime
