Hello,
Does anyone know of any LMS openings at the Board of Ed (including
sabbaticals, leave replacements, etc.)? My applications for state
certification and city licenses (elementary and secondary) are all in and I
already have a file number. I have no prior experience, but have worked in
a management capacity in business for the last 18 years. I have been
looking on my own, but with no luck so far. Any tips, suggestions or leads
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

"turning off the TV
week!" (Or month, or year, or for a lifetime!) There is Parent's kit, a
Teacher's kit, and an Administrator's kit)

http://www.charactereducationinfo.org/ Has some information regarding
books, drug abuse prevention, institutional policies and state education
laws, conferences, etc.

http://www.wiseskills.com This looks like one we might use! There are
resources, quotes to use, biographies of "role models", etc. Check out this
one if you are in an elementary school!

http://www.learning-for-life.org/ This is program that provides classroom
and worksite based programs to support schools in preparing youth for the
real world. Many areas listed.

http://www.charactercounts.org/ This is a nationwide nonprofit initiative
to support character education. Many areas of information listed to review.
Check out this site for some nonpartisan, nonsectarian character education.

http://www.usoe.k12.ut.us/curr/char_ed/ This is a character education
homepage for Utah and it has some wonderful resources which I pulled just to
have for my own use! There are lesson plan ideas, resources, professional
development, state grant funding, and talk about integrating library
resources--there's even a list of books to use for different subjects such
as honest, etc. Check it out!

http://www.indiana.edu/~eric_rec/ieo/bibs/characte.html This is a
bibliography of resources including ERIC citations! A great way to start
something!

I'm still looking for more! (I must be a die-hard reference librarian at
heart...because I love looking for information!) I'll post others that I
find and include those which are being sent to me!

Thanks for being interested!
