Hi-- I am a children's librarian in a public library. Every Fall, we host all 1st graders from all of our local elementary schools in a series of evening programs called "First Grade Library Stars." The program acquaints youngsters with the public library, the librarians, etc. and they all get their library cards (if they don't already have one). Well, each year we present stories and guest readers from the community but we as librarians always do a puppet show based on a book. For example, last year we did "The Cow That Went Moo." The year before we did "The Lady with the Alligator Purse." The stories have to fit well to adaptation to using puppets and props, not be overly loooong, and the funnier stories are better for this audience. This year we'd like to get started now on planning and so far we've come up with a few titles but they aren't so great. So I thought I would put it out there to you LM_Netters. ANY IDEAS? They will be greatly appreciated.... :) Jan Shild Children's Librarian Farmington Community Library Farmington, Michigan shildjan@metronet.lib.mi.us =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
