Colleagues,

I haven't shared a web site from Dummies Daily for quite a while but today's
has too much potential for our group to not share!  I haven't searched in
depth yet but have a look!

On another recent topic, J. Dervan shared the column by Bob Green about
doing away with computers in classrooms before 8th grade.  I think he does
make some valid points!  It seems like it is a similar issue to the old
question of how soon kids should be given calculators.  Should they know
what addition is first?  He does make positive comments about reading and
that computers deter kids from reading AND being read to.  As a friend and I
were discussing tonight,  Is the computer just another "babysitter"?(in
addition to the TV)  I think the answer, as it is for so many things, is
"everything in moderation"! :-)
