From: Laurie Danin <LDanin@AOL.COM> Subject: Flexible Scheduling posted on behalf of Chancery Software with permission from the LM_NET operators. We at Chancery are constantly hearing from current and potential customers who subscribe to LM_NET, and we would like to congratulate the members of this list for creating such a popular community. If you are unfamiliar with Chancery, the company develops and markets library management systems and student information systems. While reviewing the LM_NET ARCHIVES, we noticed that there were some factual errors about Chancery Software and about our library automation system, Library Pro. Some of the negative information on LM_NET was correct about versions of Library Pro released several years ago. Like all software vendors, Chancery updates and improves our products regularly, and we are currently shipping version 2.1 of Library Pro. When researching a software package on a listserve or elsewhere, please keep this in mind and be sure the comments apply to the version you are evaluating. In a world that moves as fast as technology, issues raised even two to three years ago probably don't apply to today's product. The best way to evaluate software is to look at it. One can download a demo version of Library Pro 2.1 by visiting the Chancery Web site at www.chancery.com. Finally, it has been mentioned on LM_NET that Chancery is now owned by Caspr. While there are cordial relations between Caspr and Chancery, neither company owns any equity in the other.
